The owners of this large 1950s house in the English countryside wanted a total re-think and re-design -- out with the old and in with the new! Adrienne proposed extensive changes including a new open-tread oak, glass and stainless steel staircase to bring light into the dark hallway, knocking down the wall between the living and dining rooms and creating a feature TV/fireplace wall with a cantilevered travertine ledge, specially designed display shelving, a new kitchen and utility room with folding glass doors to the beautiful garden, new modern bathrooms, and a gorgeous red and white master bedroom. The couple embraced the design ideas, packed up their things and moved out as the builders moved in. Seven months later it was all done, and it's just, well, absolutely fabulous.
