Modern Interior Design
Our client wanted something extra to take his living space to the next level of modern interior design. Metal, blasted glass and a return to wallpaper were to be our inspirations. To add character, an accent wall was wallpapered with a dark brown paper with a subtle yet bold pattern. The chimney breast was treated to the same wallpaper as the accent wall. This makes it the focal point of the room and lessens the crowding effect of the awkward angles in that corner of the interior.
The stairwell was originally lit from a section of glass in the wall and this was replaced by a section of clear glass blocks. The glass theme was extended to the kitchen doors. The original wooden doors were replaced with double sand-blasted glass doors.
The landing was used to feature some modern design elements. A bespoke backlit mirror was hung over a custom made, glass-topped console table, both made to complement the metal and glass display unit in the living room. Against the glittering backdrop of the glass block wall the simplicity of the bespoke metal balustrade accentuates the clean, modern feel.
Another modern interior design classic.
