Interior Design of Living Room and Dining Room
The brief was to redesign the living room and the kitchen dining room of this large flat in Pimlico. The kitchen had to satisfy the requirements of an enthusiastic and demanding gourmand. The living room needed to feel like home yet still pack a punch for the purposes of entertaining friends and business associates. The dining area had to be practical but stylish in order to cope with the needs of a growing family.
The kitchen with its dining table and chairs was originally separated from the living room by a wall with a square opening connecting the two areas. Most of the dividing wall was removed. The old kitchen was ripped out to be replaced with a new custom designed kitchen. The dining area was rationalised by installing built-in seating and the living area was redesigned, furnished and accessorised with a classic contemporary look that takes inspiration from the most glamorous aspects of Georgian style.
The two images below show the long views through the newly opened space. Below these you can view a "before and after" comparison of various elements in the flat.
We have paired off "before and after" views to illustrate the transformation. Only the "after" views can be enlarged.
These images focus on some of the details.
Finally, here's what our client had to say:
"Thank you so much for your inspired design. We are absolutely delighted with the rooms. Both calming and inspiring."
